"I thought we were friends," he whined, I shot him a dirty look and he pouted in response. "I like her already," a guy from the group said, "I'm Ryan." "Dawn," I sighted Nathaniel coming over so I took a seat and sipped from the glass of wine.
"Hey Natty," they greeted him and he did the guys handshake with the lads and he sat beside me.
We talked and played a few games. When it was almost twelve midnight, we all moved to where the TV is and Carlos put it on the Times Square. We count down, "5-4-3-2-1 Happy new year!" we all cheered and I heard fireworks set off. We then went outside to view the fireworks. An hour later, we said our goodbyes and Nat drove me home.
"Happy new year, Dawn." Nate said when I was about to exit his car.
"Wish you the same, Nate. Thanks for taking me out. I had a good time." I smiled at him.
"See! And you were grumbling about how I was disturbing your peaceful time while we were going." he teased.
I laughed, "Good night, Nate." I hugged him.
"Nighty night, my dear." he whispered and I exited the car. I waved at him and he drove out of sight before I went inside and landed on my bed for a well deserved sleep.
