Any body that knows this country's history knows about the Civil War between the North and the South. They also heard about the family feud between the Hatfields and McCoys but down here was another feud that almost ended the township of Collinsworth. It all began many years ago when two different families from the north moved down to Collinsworth. Jeremy Allen Hamilton, Florence Hazel Grant, and William Jacob Collinsworth was in the same grade throughout their school years
The two young men one a carpenter and the other one was suppose to follow in his father's footsteps of being a plantation owner growing tobbaco. They were best buddies until they both fell in love with the same young woman Florence Hazel Hamilton. She let both of them court her until her parents told her to make up her mind and stringing up the other one That was a very dangerous game she was playing with both young men.
On Christmas eve she decided that her heart belong more to William Jacob Collinsworth and tried to break things off with Jeremy. Jeremy took the breakup hard and shot at William with a rifle. He just barely missed him but wounded one of the horses that was pulling the carriage. The feud didn't end there. He stalked William and seen him at a feed store and tried to shoot him again. this time his bullet struck the feed owner's son and killed him.
