. It stayed just long enough to unload their cargo and take another supply list and mail with them when they left. Snow Cap Ridge had anywhere from six to ten snow storms every winter. If you love the snow this was difinately the town to live in. At christmas when the town was all decorated up with all different colored lights on pine trees and houses you got the feeling you were at the North Pole or Santa Land. Sometimes it took a survivalist to live there.
Most of the town's folks had wood burning fireplaces just in case the electricity went out and they needed to keep warm untill a snow storm passed and the street crew could get the roads clean off and the electric company could restore electricity to the community. When the weather was that bad and it was time to visit Sheriff Smith's daughter the family would fly their own water plane in and out of Snow Cap Ridge Any visitor that happened to get stuck in the town due a bad storm was always welcome to ride out the storm either at one of the lodges or at either of the two church's fellowship halls.
After one of the snowstorm that stranded a family for two weeks the year before and the family felt very much at home they decided to move there permantly. The man of the family was a doctor and his wife was a baker. They bought a shop that the previous owner had retired and decided to move out of town into a retirement community . Their grown children wanted them to be closer to them to help take care of their needs . The weather in Snow Cap Ridge especially in the rainy and snow season can literally be a hinder to an older person's health He turned half of the shop into a doctor's office and the other half was a bakery shop.
