When Victoria got home she was in a great mood with a smile from ear to ear. Luke called the vet to see why Victoria was in such a good mood. the vet informed him that his daughter had to have an emergency surgery and he tried to get a hold of them and couldn't and there was an elderly couple who had booked one of his guest houses. She stayed and catered to the couple and even took them on a tour of the ranch. They left a good size tip and commented on how professional she was.
When he got back to the ranch Victoria committed that they thought she was older. Luke asked what the couple's name was. The name he gave to Luke didn't mean anything to him. At dinner he told Madelyn about Victoria being on her own there and how she catered to this elderly couple by the name Henry and Louise Haggard. Madelyn nodded her head and told her how proud she was of her.
Victoria smiled and commented I'm glad both of you are proud of me. I'm trying to be grown up and responsible. The rest of that summer she enjoyed being at the ranch taking care of the vet's horses and helping around the ranch. People especially middle aged adults with children paid more to have Victoria and her friend Sarah to help either watching their children while they were exploring the ranch or cleaning the guest house making beds and leaving fresh linens while the parents was enjoying time with their children.
At the end of summer a couple with one child a young female teenager came up missing. The county sheriff's department inform the vet he thought the couple had sneaked out on paying their bill and wasn't really missing. Victoria had already left with her mother for Paris, the capital city of France to check in at the prep school. Victoria really didn't want to go. She wasn't interested on becoming a proper young lady.
The first semester she spent learning how to dress like a proper lady, cooking which she already had a head start on and sewing. She learned how to even speak properly and not to speak until you're spoken to . Victoria really didn't enjoy that. She heard from one of the girls that she was flunking out intentionally because she wasn't going to be a mail order bride especially to the cult her parents belong to even if it meant they would kill her. She told Victoria that when Christmas break came she was going to run away. Victoria thought about it but didn't think her parents was into that kind of cult.
