Dantalion of the Goetia: Taste the Obsession of a Demon - Page 34/108

A pentagram of bronze was normally used to defend conjurers over spirits, but Dantalion knew his brother demons well. Each demon ruled over the elements, some of air, some of fire, some of water and some of earth, each holding their own specific powers. Many had been sealed longer than others. Some of the seals of metal blazed hot, glowing above their names, indicating there were five demons whose servitude had met the passing of two ages, four were demons of the Goetia.

King Vine, forty fifth demon of the Goetia, was a great king and earl who governed thirty six legions of spirits. His demon form appeared as a lion. His powers to discover things hidden allowed visions of past, present and future events to come. His allegiance, when evoked, would be paid in the way of building towers, overcoming great stone walls, and making storms rise at his will. He held a viper in his right hand, and kept a stallion of pitch as his war horse.

Prince Sitri, twelfth demon of the Goetia, caused men and women love, though it be false, bringing forth desire. His true form was that of a leopard's head, and when transformed into human form, became a mortal man of beauty, like Dantalion. He governed sixty legions of spirits.

Count Halphas, thirty eighth demon of the Goetia, when in his demon form, spoke with a hoarse voice and was once a great war hero. He built cities and furnished his armies with weapons. Under him he governed twenty six legions of spirits.

Duke Dantalion, seventy first demon of the Goetia, great and mighty, held many countenances, with the ability to shape shift between realms. He possesses the power of love, causing it at his will and as 'Incubus', causing obsessive lust. He holds power of thought and keeps the grimoire with him at all times. His power to heal and ability to wield fire were learned sciences which the book had taught him. He held secret counsel or ritual when needed and governs thirty six legions of spirits.

Count Druitte, one of Duke Dantalion's thirty six legions of spirits, was his loyal follower, and a war hero, leading many victories. He died at the hands of his own brother, Count Halphas.

Dantalion frequented the human realm, but like he felt within the third heaven, separated from the others, so he felt it here in the second heaven. In his hands, Dantalion grasped a copper vessel. It was the same sacrificial blood drawn from the rituals in my mortal world. The grimoire spoke of summoning the four great Kings of Hell with this immortal blood… yet his was already summoned by mine. He realized, with a half-smile, that all this time, whether I knew it or not, I was the same blood as Lilith. I had to be of immortal blood in order for the evocation to be complete. He never allowed me to follow through with the sacrifice.
