Dantalion of the Goetia: The Summoning - Page 28/67

"You have permanently branded the girl with your demonic seals. She will die a slow death. As her Guardian Angel, I must be merciful," Dantalion nodded, eyeing me with the dagger.

"What the hell are you talking about? You're supposed to protect me!" I screamed, fire scorching down my arms. I had to trust Dantalion, but this whole ritual was playing out differently than I had intended. I somehow replaced fear with anger, flame throwing bursts at the four demons across the circle.

"Dantalion…. this is no ordinary mortal we know… but wielding fire?" Belial screeched.

"The girl is mine!" Satan quickly sneered. " I knew I would have use for her again."

"I answer to no-one!" I barked back at the four demons fighting over me. "No blood sacrifice will be made tonight. You must await the eighteen month purification before Dantalion is allowed to sign the oath!"

"What is this madness!" Lucifer challenged Dantalion.

"The girl is right," Dantalion withdrew the dagger. You must be purified, at which time you can then summon me to sign the oath. Did you not read the section of the grimoire concerning the sacred magic of Abramelin the Mage?

"Trickery! Fire streamed from Leviathan's breath. "We have waited for the Summoning. The time is now!"

"Impossible… you cannot go against the powers of God's third heaven!" Dantalion argued.

"I told you brothers, you cannot touch the coveted angel of God. He has been favored among the third heaven since our condemnation," Satan sneered.

"The girl will still be cursed with our demonic brands…what say you, Dantalion? Belial smirked.

"She will stay under my protection, until the eighteen month purification has passed. She will remain unharmed or I will not answer your call, understood?" Dantalion bargained.

The four demons, betrayed and angry, wanted a blood sacrifice, regardless of the signing of the oath. Satan ripped the dagger out of Dantalion's hands, plunging it into my chest. "I told you once before, my brother, "Here lies not the kingdom of a lesser God, but of something greater, unrepentant, unyielding to the sins of mankind. She still owes me her flesh and blood!"

Before I knew what had happened, I was on the floor, blood pooling around my body. Dantalion dropped to the ground, lifting me up in his arms.

"Fools! You have just forfeited your redemption. There will be no purification that awaits you now!" Dantalion howled.
