"She is a beauty." his voice warm, guiding his hands through his hair.
"Come Darryl, I must steal you away for a few minutes to introduce you to a friend of mine."
"Ms....I didn't quite catch your name." presenting a charming, crooked smile.
"Adela. Adela Cornway." I admitted
"Ms Cornway, it was nice meeting you." he stated with a parting nod.
"Kettlepot, please don't go anywhere. I will be back in a few moments."
I exhaled, the tension in my shoulders, slipping away as the balcony door closed. I pressed on the railing, leaning forward, dragged to the intense beauty of my surroundings. Even though I have been living in Manhattan for over a year, I still walk around wide eyed and distracted.
My thoughts so wrapped around my environment, that I didn't hear him return. But I felt his presence as he enfolded his arms around me like a warm blanket.
"Say your goodbyes Adela, we are heading out."
What? Now?
It was impossible to hide my fear. Even though the layers of clothing between us, minus my underwear of course. His biceps felt like stone against my buttocks, his stomach a slab of muscle. He really must work out a lot.
I removed my phone, two missed calls from Jamie. I hit the speed dial and wait for her to answer.
