Aishwerya saw Maya so she asked,” Did Mappillai (She refers to Varun, Also a Tamil word which is used for the one who marries their daughter) drop you?”
Maya turned to her and said,” Ma, What did you say? Mappillai ah?”
“Yes.”
She smiled and said,” You can call him as Varun itself. Why do you need to change it all of sudden?”
“Don’t start now. Just answer me.”
“Ya, ya, Varun only dropped me.”
“Okay. You could have told this before. Instead you are starting a fight. Go, refresh yourself and help me in kitchen.”
“If you had called him as Varun like usual why would I have asked that question. Why do you give him so much respect suddenly?”
“Ufff… Maya, Listen to me without interrupting. Okay.”
“Okay” saying it she sat on the sofa armrest then listened to her mother.
Aishwerya spoke up,” Actually, It is a tradition as the girls side must invite their in-laws for lunch and respect them. The main reason behind it is that the girl’s family are indirectly making their in-laws realize that they have brought up their girl with respect so make sure that you also give her the same.”
“Oh! Then why food?”
“Food is for two reasons. First one is as per the proverb which states that when you feed someone with love you touch their heart. Here we share the love with others which will make them cognize that they must shower their girl with the same love and care. Second one, we have fed our girl with tasty dishes like these so dear mappillai make sure to provide all these to my daughter in your home too.”
