Keith took the phone. "I'm sure he'll agree to the terms." He returned to the other room.
"Did you call your men in Georgia and tell them to leave my wife alone?"
"I did."
Cyrus sighed in relief, his vitals dropping. "Good."
"Now, we can offer you full immunity from the President. But you must accept all the conditions."
Cyrus nodded. "Which are?"
"When Grey calls, you'll go along as if nothing has happened, agree to everything, and then you'll come with us to the Monument so he suspects nothing. After we apprehend Grey, we'll give you the immunity and you'll be free to return home."
"I have no choice but to agree. So, I'll do it."
Keith sat the phone down on the table. I glanced at my watch: 5:57.
The phone rang. "Keep him on as long as possible. Remember one wrong word and the immunity's off."
Cyrus nodded. "I understand."
Keith opened the phone and put it on speaker. I began tracing the call.
Keith motioned for Cyrus to start talking. "Hello?"
"Cyrus it's good to hear your voice. I was worried."
"About what?" Cyrus shifted in his chair and leaned forward.
"Our warehouse was raided this morning. We lost two containers of Anthrax and some of your men."
"Oh that. I knew something was wrong when they didn't show up. No matter. Two containers will suffice."
"You took them to the location I told you to, didn't you? Just in case anything happens."
"Yes."
"Good, but I'm still worried. Those agents could track your van from the warehouse."
"I dumped the van and my men and I moved to a new location. Those agents won't find us in time."
"This is why I knew I could trust you. Good job, Cyrus. All right, proceed according to plan. Pick up the Anthrax at 11:30 tonight and meet me. Until then my friend."
"Until then. Goodbye."
The line went dead.
Keith picked up the pictures and the file. "You did good. Now just sit tight until we are ready to leave. Agent O'Connor will keep you company and get you what you need." Keith closed the phone, walked out of the room and sat it on the desk beside me.
"Did we get a location?"
"Yes. A Hilton hotel ten minutes away from the Monument," I said as the location from the trace appeared onscreen.
"It's a shame we can't take him now. But this case wouldn't hold in court. We have no real proof aside from Cyrus' confession that he's involved so we have to carry this out. I'm sending Hayden and George to pick up the Anthrax. We'll switch it with a fake powder so there's no danger," James said.
