"Let's get some sleep, its going to be a long night."
Rather than think I let my heart lead the way. I pulled him back and put my hand on the back on his neck. I pulled him close and tenderly kissed him. He was caught off guard for a second but he raised his hand to my cheek, and then kissed me deeply and passionately. I melted into his arms as I returned the kiss with same intensity. My heart was pounding, and I wanted this moment to go on forever. A hundred emotions ran through my brain, and electricity through my body. I felt passion, desire, and love. I ran my fingers through the hairs on the back of his neck, as he wrapped his arms tightly around me. He rested his forehead against mine and we locked gazes. Everything, all the troubles of the day faded away, it was just the two of us, in this moment.
He kissed me again as his phone rang and we were jolted back into reality.
He pulled the cell out of his holder on his belt, and took a deep breath: "Hello?" He bit his lip. "James, is something wrong?" I leaned in close and listened.
"No, I just wanted to let you know that Hayden and George were successful, and the Anthrax was contained."
"That's good news." I traced my fingers up Keith's arm and he smiled sweetly.
"Yes, let Amanda know."
"I will."
"Is she with you? You two should be getting rest before the mission."
"I was just heading to the rest area now, she was upset and I sent Amy to check on her."
"Is she all right?" Perfectly content, thanks for asking. I nodded. He grinned and caressed my cheek. "She was upset, but I'm pretty sure she is fine now, she went to get a soda and then she said she'd get some rest." Good cover, babe. "Good, let her know you both need to be ready and on the main floor at 11:15."
"Right."
Keith hung up and I smiled. "Good cover story."
"Yeah, you're a great inspiration." He kissed me softly and then we walked down the hallway past the locker rooms, and into the Rest Area. There were five cots lined up along the two walls. I sat down on one and took off my shoes. Keith sat down on the cot to my left.
"Uh, not that one, it's got a broken spring. You'll have a sore back." He got up and sat down on the opposite side.
"How's this?"
"Perfect." I pulled back the covers and snuggled underneath. I turned on my right side and watched Keith take off his shoes and climb under the covers. He set the alarm on his watch as I folded the pillow and readjusted my head.
