The next step would be for Enoff to sign an affidavit and provide proof of kinship. That would be easy, because Mr. Chaba and Precious would be his witnesses. The lawyer drew up a sworn statement, declaring Enoff as the only living relative and successor to his uncle's inheritance and sent all of the papers to Mr. Trick.
A week later, Mr. Trick sent a letter to Mr. Chaba and a copy to Enoff, thanking them for the official declaration. Enoff could now withdraw his money from the holding bank. To make the transfer trouble-free, the bank would arrange to send the funds in US dollars, which would be approximately twenty-two million dollars.
The company needed the following information: Enoff's account number and the routing number of the bank receiving the money. It would take thirty days to complete the transaction.
As Enoff was getting ready to leave his house to go see Precious, the phone rang. It was the jeweler letting him know the ring was ready. He decided to go straight to the shop. When he saw the ring, Enoff said, "What an elegant and eye-catching treasure."
The jeweler commented, "You have excellent taste, and the woman receiving this ring will be the talk of the town."
Enoff replied, "I was planning to wait until we went on our trip to ask her to marry me, but I am not going to put it off any longer and will ask for her hand in marriage today."
"Good idea and thank you again for giving us the opportunity to serve you. Best wishes to you and your fiancée," said the jeweler.
Enoff hurried out of the store and went to see Precious. She was at the window and went to the door to greet him.
He said, "In thirty days, I will be a more affluent man and share my wealth with you."
He showed her the letter from Mr. Trick. She read it and celebrated along with him. They got undressed and made love for almost three hours. When they stopped, he pulled out the ring and proposed to her. After seeing that ring, she leaped out of the bed like a jubilant cricket, ran around the room and started to do the hula dance. He got up and joined her in the ritual.
One did not have to go far to get free of charge entertainment. Precious and Enoff fulfilled that need. It was getting dark. People were on their way home from work and noticed the naked couple, behind the red curtains, boogieing to loud music, but they could not determine the identity of the man.
