Vedella mother came over where they were standing.
"My dear, his is such a charming gentleman. I think our young lady have met her match." Her mother teased.
Vedella kissed both of her parents and led them back to the other guests.
"I see Spellman have found him another buddy." Dixie remarked.
"Yes. That's Spellman. He clicks with everyone." Winola remarked.
"One would think Vance isn't a stranger. He blended right in with everyone. He can be as playful as Spellman." Vedella replied.
"Ladies our meal was fantastic. So, I'm ready for the next month's cook fest. It's at my home next time." Georgianna commented.
It was getting late and everyone was starting to leave. The guest thanked the young ladies for a great meal. Vance left with Vedella in her car. She invited him to her home. She led Vance to the sitting room. She made two drinks and gave one to Vance.
"Little lady, you have a very beautiful home. I'm so glad you decided to invite me to the cook fest. Your parents are outstanding. Your family and friends are very friendly. I felt really at home." Vance commented.
"I wanted to see you again. I also wanted you to meet my parents." Vedella remarked.
Vance became very serious.
"Vedella, I love you. The moment I saw you on the dance floor, I knew you were the one for me. I might be coming on a little strong, considering we haven't known each other that long. But, when I see something I want I go after it, and you are the one for me." Vance stated.
"Vance darling, you do work fast. I care about you, but I'm not ready for a full commitment at the moment." Vedella replied.
"I think little lady you're afraid of a close encounter. I've given you something to think about. I think I better be getting back to the hotel. I have an early flight out tomorrow morning. Think about what I said Vedella." Vance said.
"I'll have my driver drop you at the hotel. I didn't mean to upset you Vance. I want to be very sure when I commit to someone." Vedella replied.
Vance got up and stood in front of Vedella. He kissed her on the forehead.
"Good night, my little lady. I'll wait on the porch for the driver."
Vance left.
Vedella set down on the sofa in a daze. She felt as if she'd been hit by a truck. She didn't expect Vance to leave so soon.
