Friday morning they were up early and headed to the airport. They had seats together and most of the trip Justin held her hand in his - at his side where their affection was unobserved by other passengers.
Justin's car was waiting at the airport, so they drove to the cabin from the Airport. They stopped at the little country store to get a few supplies and let Clara know they were married. That was their official wedding announcement - more reliable than the post office. When they walked into the store together, Clara gasped.
"You two got married, didn't you? I just knew you'd get together."
Justin laughed. "We got married yesterday and we're going to spend the holiday weekend as a honeymoon at our cabin"
Megan smiled up at him. It was still "my car" but now it was "our cabin." He glanced down at her and smiled. He probably didn't have a clue what she was thinking. More than likely he thought she was smiling about the honeymoon part. That thought brought warmth to her cheeks.
His smile broadened. We don't want to be disturbed," he told Clara without looking at her. "We need to get a few supplies." His attention shifted to Clara, who was watching them with a knowing smile.
"Well, you picked a nice secluded spot for a honeymoon." Clara said. "Now, what can I help you with?"
They paid for their supplies and left the store. They arrived at the cabin to find the grass overgrown in the yard again.
"It looks like you have your work cut out for you" he said as he parked his car. "At least you won't get bored." His eyes were full of humor.
She nodded. "I think you'll have to refresh my memory on the use of the weed whip. It may take a lot longer for me to catch on this time, though."
He grinned. "And why is that?"
She shrugged. "I keep getting distracted."
He chucked, reaching for her "Forget about the grass." He drew her into his arms.
As she wrapped her arms around his neck, she whispered "What grass?"
He held her close for a little while and finally released her. "We'd better get our things in the cabin."
They would only be at the cabin a couple days, so they didn't have much to carry, but when they got in the cabin, Megan stopped and gasped.
"I knew I forgot something. I was going to bring a bedroll."
Justin said nothing as he stepped past her and carried their things into the bedroom. She followed him and stopped at the door. "Where did that come from?"
