"Hmm, I just did…Why?" Jacob answered dryly and a little defensively as they were making their way to the platform.
"Oh nothing… I just know how much you enjoyed seeing those teens in the summer."
"Hmm… It just became inconvenient… That's all no particular reason." He told his wife. She didn't have to know the real reason why. She didn't ever have to know that one of those teens was his blood son and he couldn't face seeing that child every day and not acknowledge him as his own. He couldn't do it; and he was not willing to risk losing his family for someone he didn't know or have any connection with.
