Then the subject abruptly changed to the house they were building right behind their own house and how they would be neighbors, they were all very excited by the prospect of this, and all the fun times they would have together. Anne sat quietly listening to them, and she was very pleased, that they all got on so well, and would always be close by for each other, even when she was gone, they would carry on, this family together, and it made her smile.
The Baylor family left for home, they wanted to get home to poor Trix and let him out, before they got the k's ready for bed. Anne, Starke and Candee went to the kitchen for one last cup of coffee, before they too headed for the cabin, they could see that Anne was tiring, for she had, had a full day preparing that wonderful dinner.
Then as they prepared to leave, Starke gave her a kiss and said, "how about if we cancel tomorrow for our usual Sunday dinner, will you be ok with leftovers and peace and quiet," she said, "yes dear you are so thoughtful, I will be just fine," then Candee hugged her and said, "thank you, for everything,"" Anne replied your very welcome dear."
Sunday dawned a beautiful morning, Candee woke to the smell of coffee brewing and saw that Starke was up, so she got up threw on her wrapper and found him at the snack bar sipping a cup, she padded to the counter and poured herself a cup took it to the bar, and leaned down and kissed him, good morning!
She said, "You’re up early"" I woke up saw what a nice morning it is and got to thinking of all the things we could do today and so I got up", "Oh? and what might they be?." well first we should take the apples outs ide for the deer, enjoy our coffee, and crumb cake from mom, then we could dress and go for our bike ride, then if you'd like we can throw some things in a picnic basket and take the boat out for awhile.
My, my, sounds like a pretty full day you're planning there, Mr.? We'd better get started and she got up coffee in hand and started to the door, he got up also but grabbed the bag of apples he had cut up earlier.
They each took a rocker and waited, sure enough from the edge of the woods the deer came out with "Apples" in the lead followed by the "Mrs." and a few relatives they suspected, Apples made his was slowly towards the porch and low and behold the Mrs. Right behind him, Starke just looked over at Candee and she raised her eyebrows in surprise.
