They arrived at the lake, and Starke got his family settled on the boat, then went and got the cooler and picnic basket, the new boat was much bigger and had everything to keep a family comfortable, they kept swimsuits, on board and disposable diapers etc. the cruised around the lake for awhile waving to other families some they knew others they didn't know but all boaters waved. Some were braving the still chilly water to do some water skiing, others were on wave runners
It was past noon now, and so Starke made his way to the island, ran the boat up onto the sand, and helped everyone off, Candee handed Jamie in his carrier to him, and she got off, Marie was exploring already.
They spread two blankets on the sand near a big tree for some shade as it was now well into June and getting quite warm. Candee said, "I'm glad now that we packed so much food and drinks, baby food and bottles more than we'll actually need," they enjoyed their picnic, it was a beautiful day after all.
Marie had taken her shoes and socks off and was skipping along the water's edge, Jamie was napping in his carrier, this gave Starke and Candee chance to talk," what happened back there?" she nodded in the direction of the cabin, "I'm not sure yet, but someone broke in and took a good look around searching closets drawers everything. We'll know more later Cameron is on the case as we speak. I'm not sure if anything was taken, we'll have to take inventory, when we're there for the weekend.
They spent a few more hours there, Starke was showing Marie how to skip stones across the water, but then they decided it was time to pack up andstart heading home, they had decided to leave Taffy home since it was only a day trip and she would be waiting by the door to be let out.
