Drake Peterson was six-foot-three inches of chocolate fineness with muscles on top of muscles. He was also the defensive lineman for our Auburn Tigers college football team. Being an honor student added to his magnetism. Brains and brawn. The two combined turned me on like nothing else.
Denise invited me out for pizza with her and Weston at a little college hangout one night. I should have known it was a setup from the jump, when I saw the extra guy sitting at the table. It was only supposed to be the three of us. Denise waved me over when she spotted me. Drake and Weston stood, when I got to the table. Weston wasted no time introducing us.
"Alyssa this is my boy, Drake. And, Drake this Alyssa, a very good friend of Denise and mine."
I looked at Denise with accusing eyes, as she smiled and twitched in her seat like she was up to something sneaky.
Taking my hand in his, he raised it to his lips. "It's a pleasure to formally meet you, Alyssa. Although I must say, I have already been checking you out around campus."
I jerked my hand from his. I didn't want him to feel my sweaty palms, or know how nervous he was making me feel. It puzzled me that I was so nervous in the first place. Glancing at Denise, I was unsure of what to say as I sat beside Drake in the booth.
"Hi," I responded barely moving my lips.
Denise and Weston started a conversation about how hard Professor Grants' class was that quarter. Eventually, I felt at ease and Drake and I began to make small talk. The more we talked, the more I liked him. I admired that he wasn't conceited or self-absorbed. Before the night was over, he asked me out to the movies and I accepted. Not long after that first date, we were considered a couple on campus. We fell for each other…hard. I made sure I went to all of his home and away games, when I could get there.
The only downside to our relationship was Autumn Blake. She was the dubbed the Campus Queen. The one who could have anyone she chose. She was beautiful - at least on the outside. She had a body any girl would die for and she knew it. She was a Bitch with a capital "B" in all other areas.
Her sights were set on Drake Peterson, and she wanted him with a passion. She didn't even try to hide her desire for him. Meanwhile, Drake swore up and down that he didn't have any interest in her.
