The next two weeks were hard. Whenever I encountered Autumn, she had a smirk on her face. I ignored her as best I could, but I still felt the sting of Drake's betrayal every time we crossed paths. I went into the Student Union building two days before Drake and Weston's graduation and saw him and Autumn sitting together at one of the tables. I really didn't need to see that right then, so I turned to leave. Drake spotted me before I could quietly exit the building.
"Alyssa wait up!" he called out. I kept walking like I didn't hear him. He caught up to me and said, "Alyssa, I know you hear me calling you. If you didn't see me why are you walking away so fast?"
With fire in my eyes, I turned and confronted him. "We have nothing to say to each other. We have said all we need to say to each other. Besides, you have the right company to occupy your time," I said as I gestured to Autumn.
"It's not what you think! We were going over some last minute graduation stuff. That is all. Will you please come over to the table with me? I want to address what happened out in the open, so we can put this whole thing behind us."
I looked at him as if he'd lost his mind. "Did you not hear anything I said in our conversation the other week? We are through, nada, no more! We have nothing to talk about. I wish you well in your life with whatever you do. Just do it without me... Goodbye Drake!" I walked away leaving him staring at my back with a hopeless look on his face.
His graduation day came, and the only reason I was in attendance was because Weston was graduating, too. I wanted to give him my support. Denise wouldn't have forgiven me for missing her man's event. But, as soon as it was over, I congratulated Weston and left. They were very understanding about why I didn't want to go to the after party.
Entering my dorm building, I found Drake waiting for me outside of my door. "Alyssa, I know you want nothing to do with me right now, but please hear me out. I love you and I want you to be my wife. Please, I am begging you to try to find forgiveness in your heart for me. Slap me, hit me, just do what you got to do to get this anger out your system so we can get past this and move on together."
"Drake, I am not going to lie. Yes, I still love you. I really do. I just can't forget this right now. I can't be with you right now. Yes, we can move on, just not with each other."
