"Why would you want to do that lass, when the place you are looking for is but a two day boat ride from New York?" Martin then told her that he knew just the place. Martin went into detail of the island Geheimnis, Cuba. They called it Storm Haven, the island was 435 miles off of the Cuban main land in the Caribbean. He said if she couldn't get off the ship in the Bahamas then all she would have to do was take another passenger ship from New York to the Caribbean, and from there she could purchase a charter plane ticket and be flown to Storm Haven. He described this island as an exotic tropical paradise like no other, showing her pictures of lush green hillsides. He offered his services as a traveling companion to get her there, to make certain she arrived safe and sound. There was just something about the manner of his attentions and his looks made her cool towards him.
"Thank you Martin for the information on that wonderful sounding island, but I do believe I have made up my mind and I will indeed be staying in New York. Now if you will excuse me, I need to go powder my nose." She got up, left her drink on the table, as she was planning on coming back, what she didn't want to reveal was the excitement that she had when Martin told her of the Island, it was perfect!.
She was dying to find Nicolò and tell him what she had just learned, maybe she could convince him to travel with her, after all they had lost each other once before. So until she found him, she kept the knowledge about Storm Haven Island to herself. It was decided that she would go to that island even if Nicolò did not leave with her. Hopefully this would be the one place that she would be able to remain incognito while staying safely out of the reach of her father.
Now that Alannah was on board the Luxury Liner, she was not permitted below decks with the crew. Her days were spent outside lavishing in the sun, and then in the evenings she would go out on the deck and look up at the stars, wearing nothing but an elegant floor-length champagne color cape, with a draping of soft fur at the shoulders. She liked the feeling of the fresh sea air on her skin, and the material of the dresses that she had made was thin enough that the air passed right through. She had each of her dresses made special out of Muslin, so that they were thin and slightly see through, they weighed less so when she traveled she could afford to fit more in her bags. A couple of her dresses only had one layer of Muslin and one layer of Lace. Because Alannah was very voluptuous anything she wore filled out very nicely.
