Chapter 604: A Poor Girl Asking For Red Packets

"We’ve reached another season of harvest…" Hachi Chan said contemplatively, but her innocent face made everyone feel that this was cute rather than profound.
"I’m going to loot the body. Everyone be quiet," Remnant Dream called out.
When she looted the body, she had to be the center of attention and everyone had to be watching.
"All hail Dreamy," Sakura Memories said, looking very serious and respectful.
All of their hopes were pinned on Remnant Dream’s little hands as she looted the body. Even without her reminder, everyone would have watched her with their full attention.
It had to drop Jang’Thraze the Protector!
The three Plate-armored players were almost kneeling and praying before the Boss.
They had to pray, even though the item would ultimately belong to Moonlight. However, Wandering and Azure Sea Breeze weren’t too concerned because they could always borrow the item.
"I’ll loot the Chief first." Remnant Dream understood where these three brothers were coming from, so she decided to start from Chief Ukorz Sandscalp.
There were two Bosses lying on the ground, but only Chief Ukorz Sandscalp could drop Jang’Thraze the Protector.
Lu Li was also hopeful. Although the drop rate of Jang’Thraze the Protector and Sang’Thraze the Deflector was not very high, they had achieved First Clear on Nightmare Difficulty. This would dramatically change the drop rates.
The item with the least chance of dropping in normal circumstances would be most likely to drop now.
Without this kind of incentive, why else would anyone care so much about the First Clears?
"The Chief’s Enforcer. Wow, it’s quite exquisite," Remnant Dream’s announced as her eyes lit up. She didn’t pay much attention to average equipment, so it was quite rare for her to say that an item was exquisite. However, when they heard its name, the three Warrios all sighed.
"Please, the System just doesn’t want us to have a good time," Azure Sea Breeze lamented.
Although he was an atheist, he had just prayed to heaven, Buddha, the Greek Gods, Allah, Christ and a dozen other powerful beings. But none of them could help him!
Wandering’s beautiful face was filled with disappointment. If someone else had seen it, they would definitely go and beat up the game development team.
Moonlight wasn’t an outspoken person and usually just had a straight face on, but even he was filled with regret. This was comparable to when he didn’t get to fight for three days in a row.
"There are more than a dozen groups behind us – maybe they got it. I’ll talk to Square Root 3 and get them to surrender it," Lu Li comforted. "The Chief’s Enforcer dropping is already not bad. I’ll give this weapon to Fat Monkey – any objections?"
Remnant Dream showed everyone the properties of the weapon.
It was Gold grade, and a typical offensive weapon with high intelligence stats. It had a total of three special effects: Critical Hit +15%, Fire Spell damage +15% and a chance for attacks to put the target in a Daze for three seconds.
The fire damage increase was almost completely wasted on Lonesome Flower and Sesame Rice Ball, while third skill was almost a PVP-exclusive effect.
This Chief’s Enforcer was a very strong item for casters that dealt fire damage.
Fat Monkey was also a professional player, which meant that his equipment needed to be prioritized. Lu Li didn’t actually need to ask everyone for their opinion; no one would speak out against this anyway.
Now that a Gold weapon had already been dropped, no one expected anything more.
Remnant Dream no longer forced everyone to watch her, and just went on to loot the second item.
"Well…"
The little hunter squatted there without moving.
"Are you lagging?" Hachi Chan patted the girl’s head and grinned.
"No, you’re lagging," Remnant Dream said as she rolled her eyes and threw an item at Moonlight. "I demand compensation. I want lots and lots of gold. My pets are so pitiful; they just eat bread everyday…"
Could it be…?
Everyone’s eyes lit up. This little girl couldn’t be so lucky, right? There was no way…
But in fact, the item in Moonlight’s hands was a Gold one-handed sword called Jang’Thraze the Protector. The one-handed sword that could combine with Sang’Thraze the Deflector to make the Sul’Thraze Whiplash.
Lu Li would never have expected a Boss to drop two Gold equips that were both weapons.
This was simply unreasonable. It definitely was a Bug, but he would never be able to prove it.
"That’s it!" Remnant Dream had squeezed Chief Ukorz Sandscalp clean after taking two weapons from him. He didn’t drop a Skill Book or any Rare Materials after that – not even a piece of rubbish.
However, no one there thought that Chief Ukorz Sandscalp was stingy.
"If you don’t give me gold, I won’t loot good items for you next time," Remnant Dream pouted as she squatted before Ruuzlu.
Unfortunately, no one was paying attention to the little girl. Everyone was trying to work out how to put the two one-handed swords together. Even Lu Li didn’t know; he just knew that they could be combined.
Putting them together didn’t have any effect. They were still two separate one-handed swords, and they didn’t possess the effect that Lu Li had described.
"A rare material. Troll Essence." Remnant Dream saw that everyone was ignoring her and shyly handed the materials to Lu Li before continuing to loot. The little girl was just asking for a small red packet. Next time, she was going to ignore those ungrateful adults.
Lu Li also studied the two swords for a while, but he couldn’t find a way to combine them.
Did they need to go to the Blacksmith?
This was probably the most likely solution. No one knew about Forging more than a Blacksmith, but Lu Li wasn’t completely sure. He still felt like they had missed something.
Remnant Dream was carrying something and began to kick up a fuss.
"Well, I have decided not to give this to you."
A Boss had dropped two weapons, yet she didn’t receive a bonus for it. This meant that she had worked so hard for nothing. When she thought about all her pets and her dream Pet Manor, she sighed because she couldn’t afford those things.
The Pet Manor, also known as a Pet Hut, was a mansion-styled building in the main city where you could place your pets.
The number of pets that a player could have was limited. Most players could have 12 pets, but completing some quests could increase this to 24. However, Hunters didn’t have the same pet limit. It was commonly believed that the tenfold increase of the Hunter’s pet limit could never be reached.
