Chapter 742: Working As A Team

The fourth stage was full of level 35 monsters, but the pressure wasn't too great. However, they could no longer storm through the trials at this point. Lu Li's Assassin Gear had made a huge impact on their progress; he was even more useful than Nuo Yu.
Lu Li's team completed the stage with SSS grade again.
Another wheel appeared in front of everyone and an extra skill point flashed before his eyes.
Lu Li looked at the skill point and felt as if a kitten was scratching at his heart.
He was desperate for skill points – when the gap between equipment and technique grew smaller and smaller between top players, the difference between them would come down to their skill levels.
During the Shadow Cup, the competitors were still adapting to the game. Dawn was entering its fourth month of public release, so if anyone was still unfamiliar with it, they might as well give up on being a competitor.
"Dreamy, left or right?" Lu Li asked as he held onto the wheel.
Remnant Dream thought hard for a bit before she replied, "Mmm, left for guys and right for girls. You should spin left."
That was the conclusion?
Was it really necessary to think so hard about this? Lu Li suddenly realized how pointless his question was. It was a mistake to ask her about it, so he didn't keep his hopes up.
However, since it didn't matter if he spun left or right, he might as well do what she said.
The others waited since no one was in a rush to spin. Everyone wanted to see what Lu Li landed on.
The wheel spun hard and the needle rapidly ticked, from fast to slow and finally…
"My god, it really happened!" Nuo Yu exclaimed as his jaw dropped. If Remnant Dream really did have this kind of ability, she would be more than just a lucky pet.
Lu Li watched, dumbfounded, as he gained a skill point.
"I'll try too – guys on the left and girls on the right. Let me get the skill book," Rain Like A Wanderer said as he followed closely behind. Among his eight slots, only the skill book was worth anything.
Perhaps Remnant Dream's good luck could be contagious.
Everyone held onto their breaths, watching as the needle on the wheel spun from fast to slow and eventually stopped on a Silver grade equip.
To be fair, the attributes of the equip were decent. It came with a damage reduction effect and a maximum Health +5% Attribute. However, for Nuo Yu, this wasn't a useful item as he was beginning to aim for Gold equipment.
He didn't get the skill book.
"Dreamy hasn't said anything yet; we need to take turns. Dreamy, tell me how to get the recipe." Hachi Chan wanted the Accessory recipe, which would allow her to craft a Gold grade necklace.
Necklaces belonged to the rare equipment category. The price for a Silver grade necklace was at least five times higher than other equips. Naturally, a Gold grade necklace would be worth even more.
Even Hachi Chan, who didn't really understand equipment attributes, knew that this item was definitely valuable.
Remnant Dream thought seriously for a bit and said, "Mmmm, today is Wednesday, so you should spin to the right."
What relationship did Wednesday have to spinning to the right? Everyone was confused and no one understood the logic behind it, but the suggestion was as clear as daylight.
Hachi Chun spun the wheel hard to the right.
"Why didn't I get it!" she exclaimed as she held onto the skill book that she had already learned and looked begrudgingly towards her best friend.
"Do you all really think I'm capable of this? Maybe I won't even get something good myself this time," Remnant Dream said dismissively.
She spun the wheel herself without a moment's hesitation and landed on the best rare material among the eight slots.
Nuo Yu didn't want to give up and asked Remnant Dream for suggestions, but he still ended up with a rubbish equip.
The final conclusion was that Remnant Dream's luck was truly beyond average. However, her suggestions weren't that reliable. Only Lu Li was able to get what he wanted, but this was likely a coincidence.
Fifth floor – level 40 monsters.
Lu Li's team finally began to feel the pressure. Previously, Lu Li had killed the monstesr on this floor alone and received a SS grade.
However, more players meant more monsters too. It was hard to decide which was the better method.
This time, Lu Li was in charge of aggroing, while Rain Like A Wanderer would tank.
Remnant Dream and Nuo Yu became the main sources of damage. Nuo Yu was a Mage, so he had excellent AoE damage, while Remnant Dream only had a one decent AoE spell. The pet that she had brought this time was a Flame Bird which had two AoE damage spells.
"Faster Lu Li! It's up to you now!" Nuo Yu shouted as he drank a recovery potion and casted his skills frantically.
"Pull more; I can tank them."
Rain Like A Wanderer's equipment wasn't as great as Azure Sea Breeze's, but all the monsters here were average.
By moving as he taunted, he minimized the number of monsters that could hit him and survived.
With Hachi Chan constantly healing him, he managed to keep his health bar above half. There was a distance requirement for this technique, so he asked for Lu Li to pull more monsters.
"For the SSS! Let's go!" Nuo Yu cried out as he gritted his teeth and drank another potion.
This was an exquisite potion that he had received from one of his quests which increased his damage by 50% and lasted for five minutes. He only had one bottle and never used it, but there was no time for him to hesitate.
The effects of the potion were very obvious; his damage greatly increased and the monsters rapidly died.
Remnant Dream had something similar, and although the effects weren't as great at Nuo Yu's potion, it was better than nothing.
With everyone contributing, the monsters on the fifth floor were quickly wiped out.
The total time was shorter than estimated and the system announced that they received an SSS grade.
"I have a Dark Gold grade equipment..."
"I have a mount..."
"I have an exquisite recipe..."
"I have eight items here that are all pretty good..."
The SSS rewards on the fifth floor were clearly better than the fourth floor. After all, they had fought against level 40 monsters this time.
