Chapter 281: Turning the Tide

To find out Lu Li’s identity was not that hard at all. If he had been staying at the Di Long Tribe, then it was possible that nobody would find out who he was.
However, once he rose and became outstanding, it would cause the families to be suspicious. They could make out Lu Li’s identity as long as they wanted to.
Lu Renhuang once made a huge scene at the Bai Emperor Mountain because of Ming Yu and he almost killed the Old Man of Heaven Prison. Granted, the Bai Family sealed off the information later on but there was no guarantee that there was absolutely no leak. Some families did get some information.
Many people had started to ask who Lu Li was after Ming Yu knelt to him and called him Young Master. Sure, Ming Yu did leave and never returned to the Blood Evil Island, but he did make an appearance not too long ago. The Ghost Mask could not shield off the psychic power of a Noble Lord Realm warrior after all.
Therefore, Zi Huanyu, learning the information, didn’t do anything. Du Heng and Qi Tianhe, on the other hand, thought that they had the support of Du Zheng so they could do anything they wanted. The king of the Heaven Cold Kingdom was killed by the Old Man of Heaven Prison which meant that even if Ye Li had known who Lu Li was, he still would take actions.
What made Du Heng feel ridiculous was after all these time, Du Zheng had come and he had come to support Lu Li. He had conveyed a piece of information to the world—he was on the same side as Lu Li. Who dared to offend Lu Li was to oppose him!
Any scheme or plot must be for some benefit or the man behind all this would be insane.
Du Zheng was not insane. There was something in this that could bring him profits. Previously, there was speculation that based on his relationship with Du Heng, Du Zheng was here to help Du Heng to unify the Northern Desert. Yet as of this moment, he was on the opposing side of Du Heng.
So, this speculation was wrong.
The moment Du Zheng demonstrated his attitude, the fight had been effectively brought to an end. Du Zheng had arranged a grand scheme and went through so much effort and what had he gained?
The only thing that he could get from this was Lu Li’s friendship.
Adding brilliance to the present splendor was not as good as providing timely help. If Du Zheng had taken Du Heng’s side, Lu Li was going to lose, whereas if he had taken Lu Li’s side, Lu Li would triumph!
Losing and triumph, the huge gap between the two could impact Lu Li greatly. Lu Li’s feeling towards Du Zheng would be bettered quickly…
As to the reason of Du Zheng helping Lu Li, it was easily understandable. Lu Li was the disciple of the Lu Family. Leaving that aside, just Lu Li’s father, Lu Renhuang, was worth Du Zheng befriending Lu Li at a huge cost.
Hence, Zi Huanyu and Madam Yan had similar conjectures. Only, Du Heng, Du Ziling, Zi Lian and Ye Yuhan were confused as they still could not see why Du Zheng was doing this.
Blunt were those concerns, Lu Li could not figure this out at this moment, either. Since somebody had extended him an olive branch, he would not refuse.
Soon, Lu Li smiled and said with his fists cupped, "You are so generous, Chief Steward Du. How can I refuse? However… can you give me a minute? I want to finish my business here."
"Okay!"
Du Zheng nodded and said with a smile, "Young Master Lu, do as you want. I will wait for you at auction house."
With that said, Du Zheng cast a cold glance to Du Heng and Zi Huanyu. Then he flew towards Heaven Prison City on his Golden Chariot, and soon, he vanished.
"Whoosh~"
Du Zheng’s glance had clear implications. Du Heng flew over, grabbed Du Ziling in his hand and made a dash to the south without looking back.
"Run—"
Nobody here dared to stay any longer after Du Heng fled. Many warriors of the Eternal Realm and Fate Wheel Realm fled to all directions.
Powerful warriors of Eternal Realm of some families flew to their Iron-armored Ships and left with their young masters and ladies. A powerful warrior protecting Ye Li also took him and ran away. There were so many people fleeing that it was becoming chaotic.
"Young Master!"
Ye Cha turned to Lu Li, asking if he should pursue those who were fleeing. Lu Li shook his head.
He was here to save, not to kill. How many could Ye Cha kill with so many already gone?
"Young Master Lu, I am Zi Huanyu, the Chief Patriarch of the Zi Family!"
Zi Huanyu and the young masters and ladies of the Heaven Martial City didn’t leave. Zi Huanyu cupped his hands and said, "What I said was not a lie. I am grateful that you have saved our Lady Lian. Zi Family hope to find a friend in you. If you have the opportunity, go to the Heaven Martial City. Zi Family will receive you with utmost respect."
Lu Li felt warm to Zi Huanyu since he didn’t do anything just now. Also, at the Yu Emperor City, Zi Lian had defended him after some fashion. Lu Li looked at Zi Huanyu and Zi Lian, clasped his fists and said, "Thank you very much, Chief Patriarch and Lady Lian. I will definitely visit when time permits."
"We will leave now!"
Zi Huanyu waved his hand. The Iron-armored Ship flew away with a glare. Zi Lian looked deeply into Lu Li, smiling while sighing inside.
The once noisy Bai Emperor Mountain quieted down, leaving behind only the aftermath of the fight and dozens of dead bodies.
"Whoosh~"
Ye Cha signalled to Ye Xiao who rushed down and dragged out the Patriarch of the Cyan Phoenix Race from the pit. The patriarch was covered in blood and had fractures in some places. But he was alive.
Ye Cha knew very well this patriarch would not die or he wouldn’t leave him unattended. He was confident about the defensive power of the Cyan Phoenix Race.
Ye Cha took out an Iron-armored Ship onto which they all boarded. Lu Li glanced over and then turned his looks to Madam Yan. "Madam, please deal with the other things yourself."
Madam Yan was still pondering about what Du Zheng was after. She came to her senses at Lu Li’s words. Madam Yan nodded and replied, "Young Master Lu, we are greatly indebted to you. I can take it from here."
Du Heng had run away, Qi Tianhe fled with wounds, Ye Li was taken away covered in injuries, and Zi Huanyu was staying away from the business of the Thousand-island Lake.
The most crucial thing was the position taken by Du Zheng. The result was certain. The armies of the three kingdoms would leave soon and they would not come back for the time being. Lu Li turned the tides and calmed the Thousand-island Lake down.
"Clan Leader Ye, Yu Huashen, go with me to the auction house. Ming Yu, stay here and help Madam Yan to stabilize the situation."
Lu Li ordered. He still couldn’t believe in Du Zheng completely so of course he couldn’t go on his own. What Du Zheng did was out of the ordinary. With Ye Cha and Yu Huashen at his side, at least he could remain in safety.
Grabbing Lu Li in one hand, Ye Cha flew away with Yu Huashen following him. The three rushed to the Heaven Prison City.
Ming Yu and the others landed on the ground and stood outside the pavilion. Ye Xiao treated the wounded Patriarch of the Cyan Phoenix Race, and the other two Patriarchs stood in silence.
"We won?"
Bai Xiashuang thought she was dreaming. She shouted in ecstasy. People were shouting joyfully at the Bai Emperor Mountain and many shouted the name of Lu Li. For them, Lu Li was their savior and a new guardian of the Thousand-island Lake.
Madam Yan and Bai Qiuxue looked at each other. Instead of happy expressions, some strange expressions were written on their faces…
They had this doubt that Du Zheng had made all these just to befriend Lu Li. In other words, in order to establish a relationship with Lu Li, Du Zheng had trapped and killed the Old Man of Heaven Prison and Bai Xi.
The Old Man of Heaven Prison and Bai Xi were probably killed over Lu Li albeit this matter was not directly related to Lu Li.
Du Zheng wanted to send the entire Thousand-island Lake to Lu Li as a generous gift. If Lu Li really was to become the overlord of the Thousand-island Lake, then the Old Man of Heaven Prison and Bai Xi must die!
Lu Li had saved the Bai Family and the Thousand-island Lake, so Madam Yan and Bai Qiuxue should be grateful.
Yet now, the two had mixed feelings. They felt rather uneasy, unable to express their true feelings…
