The voice sounded old but barely discernible. They could tell it was from a mountain but couldn’t pinpoint the exact location!
Haoyang didn’t move his sword down. He promptly followed the voice to a mountain. In the Prison of Gold, young warriors were abound and so were the old ones even though most elder warriors were hiding in cultivation here.
Those elder warriors were unpopular in their respective universe. Some had enemies in major families in their own universes. Therefore, they had come here to cultivate or seek asylum.
This was a weird bunch of people. Rarely any of them had good temper. They hadn’t come to a point where they would kill on sight, but it would not end well once they were displeased.
Young Master Haochuan used psychic power to check instantly. The two searched the entire mountain but failed to find anyone. Then they searched in the nearby area and yet came to no result. They didn’t even find anything with life.
Haoyang and Haohcuan looked at each other. The latter thought about it, cupped his fists and said, “I am sorry. I am Hoachuan from the Hao Family of the Earth Imperial Universe. My apologies for having disturbed you. He has killed a family member of ours and we must take his life.”
“Get lost!”
It was the only response Haochuan received. The voice still originated from the mountain. Haochuan and Haoyang made another attempt to figure out the source.
Little did they expect that…
The space in front of them begun to shake violently. A bloody hand of just bones made of Xuan Qi formed and it smashed down on the two.
“Bang!”
They were knocked away. The Quasi Relic armor Haochuan was wearing glared. It had absorbed most of the strength for him. Haoyang, on the other hand, suffered more. His armor cracked and half of his body was injured.
They were smashed away for almost one mile before they fell into a mountain. They took the mountain down along with them. Both rolled on the ground and Haoyang passed out immediately.
Needless to say, Quasi Relics were quite strong. Haochuan was not badly wounded. He only had some blood seeping out from his mouth.
He was furious. However, he was afraid to say anything. It was clear to him that the warrior was showing mercy or else he would have been killed.
After all, Haochuan was a young master born in a major family. Giving Lu Li who was still in a coma one last look with hatred, Haochuan carried Haoyang to the bronze chariot without saying anything. They flew away on the chariot and soon disappeared into the horizon.
Lu Li hadn’t woken up yet. He had no idea that he had escaped from a disaster. He was badly wounded and more importantly, his soul was weak. It would take days before he could recover.
“Buzzing~”
The space in front of Lu Li trembled as an old man with white hair and eyebrows showed up. This old man was only four and a half feet tall. He was skinny, like a mere bag of bones and was wearing a blood-red robe.
His white hair fell to the ground and his eyebrows were long as well. He stood in front of Lu Li emotionlessly. After a while, he began to murmur, “He is really at the peak of the Eternal Realm. How did he kill a Human Sovereign Realm warrior? What is that dragon claw? Profound Meaning or Bloodline Skill? Well…this kid has something in his Soul Pond and it can isolate my searching. Which family is he from? Where did he get the courage to come to the Prison of Gold at this age and kill someone from the Hao Family?”
The skinny old man was very advanced in age. His face and hands were covered in age pigment. After a moment, the old man took out a red token and threw it to Lu Li while saying, “Punk, you’ve got guts, just like me back in the days. I have to cultivate soon and if I come out of cultivation alive and you can survive the Prison of Gold, I will…take you in as my apprentice. Good luck.”
“Buzzing~”
The short old man suddenly vanished into thin air. Everything quieted down except that Lu Li was still lying on the ground like a dead body.
…
After a long time, Lu Li gradually came back to his senses. He still looked awful and had a hard time opening his eyes.
Taking a few deep breaths, Lu Li began to check the surroundings with psychic power at once. He was relieved to find himself alone. He looked around in a daze. He had just started to walk in the Prison of Gold and it had already nearly cost his life. How much harder it would be from now on?
“Eh?”
Soon, he noticed something. There were marks of a battle in a small hill in the distance. He saw blood stains which were not dry yet. It must be a couple of days ago.
“What happened?”
Lu Li was confused. The blood was from a human, evidently. If someone was fighting not far away from here a few days ago, how come he was still alive?
“What is this?”
He finally noticed the token left behind by the skinny old man with white hair and eyebrows. It was a token made of some kind of red wood. Beautiful patterns were carved into the token along with the word “BLOOD” in bold. The token carried with it a smell of blood. Just a few looks and Lu Li could feel his blood was tumbling around and the murderous intent was spreading out uncontrollably.
Needless to say, the token was anything but average. Lu Li seemed to have an idea of what had happened. Haochuan must have caught up with him but then was defeated by a mysterious warrior.
“Blood?”
Lu Li read the token carefully. He stood up, checked with psychic power but he didn’t feel any lives nearby. There was nobody around.
“Thank you for saving my life. I will forever be in your debt!”
Lu Li bowed to a random direction after some thoughts. He was a man that was as grateful as vengeful. That mysterious warrior might have saved him just as a casual kind gesture, but Lu Li felt he must not forget about it.
Lu Li didn’t stay any longer. He flew away on his Fate Wheel quickly but that white-haired old man didn’t come out again.
Lu Li found a secluded cave to hide after flying for more than 1000 miles. His wounds must be tended and he need to condition his body for him to return to the peak before he could move on. Otherwise, in case of danger, he could only resign oneself to extinction.
Healing while cultivating, Lu Li rested here for five days before he was completely recovered.
He set off on his journey to the west again. The clock was ticking. If he couldn’t enter the Central Imperial Universe and join the Leng Family within half a year, the poison in his bone marrow would corrode his entire body. He would stay in the foreign land as a pile of black bones forever.
Back on his journey, Lu Li resorted to a low-profile method again. He flew his Fate Wheel close to the mountains and would change course as soon as he detected something wrong. He was always respectful as well, lest he would anger some warriors cultivating in the Prison of Gold.
Six or seven days passed in peace. Lu Li didn’t know exactly where he was now. He just flew to the west, looking for marks according to the map so that he could know his location.
It was the eighth day!
His peaceful journey was disturbed again. However…he was not the one meeting enemies. He found someone fighting ahead.
“Boom, boom, boom~”
From the distance came loud noises and glaring light. Xuan Qi in heaven and earth were gathering in the location. Lu Li gave a casual glance and felt at least six or seven people were fighting.
Just one look and Lu Li made a detour to the north without any hesitation. When the powerfuls were in battle, he, an average nobody, could not afford to be implicated…
