Chapter 7. Cooche Girl
There was a star performer woman who appeared at various nightclubs about Charlotte. She was a talented attractive dazzler. Deborah Tisha Swinton was originally from Dilworth. Due to her appearance occasionally in white bird feather stage costumes and her blonde hair she was awarded the nickname of the White Swan. Some called her the Blonde Venus. Friends of her called her Tisha. She was a strip tease artist who did this skillfully. It was not that for every show she took it all off. Many shows were high brow, musical, theatrical, and used styled dance routines without bearing her flesh. She was a prostitute who sold her body to strangers for money. The White Lilly often told white lies about being promiscuous, an untruth that had no evil malicious intent. What she said was not to be taken too seriously. She made a lot of jokes. She was a dancer, singer, piano musician, whore, and what ever else that she could likely do. Many of the joints that she hung out in were full of low life people. Hoods, Crooks, Gangsters. Henchmen. Law breakers. Sleazy lounges attracted them. Tisha was the gangster’s girlfriend. A moll. Some of these clubs, like the White Swan, the gangsters owned it.
