She came back and told everyone that the killer was a woman. David told them I have my suspicion who the killer is if I'm right but we will have to really prove it and have the evidence to back it up. without a shred of doubt. His sergeant said yes you said that earlier he asked the head detective if there was a knife set in the apartment. He said yes but not to that knife. One of the women detectives said this knife is a very expensive kitchen knife that usually is sold by the set only. She informed them that there was only two or three store in town that sales them. When she got back to the station she would start running down the knife.
David and a couple of officers took the bed apart in the little guy's room then carried it out to a police van. Then they gathered up some of his clothes, and formula, bottles, the diaper holder, the baby bed dirty linens and he was taken to the Flanagan's family home where they ate their holiday dinner at. After he got the baby settled in David left the baby in his grandfather and the housekeeper Harriet's good hands with two patrol cars parked outside of their house where reported to the station. He was going to help track down that knife. It didn't look too promising as it did before. One of the three businesses no long sale that particular knife set. The other two no longer provide replacement knives. There was one factory left in the country and several in Europe. it was going to take time to track down the murder weapon's owner. Nothing anybody could do but just wait.
Later that afternoon David decided to stop by the family house to check up on his new bundle of joy. He came in through the front door and turned to go upstairs when he noticed the kitchen door open. He heard a noise upstairs and the open door became a red flag so he pulled out his gun and proceed to go up. The baby's room door was ajared so he pushed it open and saw his sister Mary Rose standing by the crib holding Davy Joe. She turned as he lowered his gun and asked why she was there.
She said I came to get to know my nephew better plus to leave off the paternity test results and court order for permanent custody and name change on the baby's birth certificate. He asked her where Fred and Harriet was. Mary Rose told him she took the rest of the afternoon off and relieved them to go to their afternoon Bingo game at the church. David asked her if she had left the back door open. She said no I came in the front door and pops left that way also. Just then they both heard a car speeding off. David went to see if the office watching the back of the house had seen anything. The police cruiser had the trunk opened. David walked around and found the officer stabbed in the back. He called in for assistance. The knife that was used as another weapon was from the same knife set meaning now two very expensive knives were missing probably from the same set.
