Nevada City. Ben was driving as much as he could but he needed his rest. Audrey even if she wasn't on the run she hadn't learned to drive. She hoped day she would be able to work and drive and go back to schol. She realized she missed the normal life that most teenagers take for granted. For right now all she could do was set and do nothing till they get to Nevada and to her grandfather's mine. She knew that she was going to have one and a half year of staying low, hardly eating, and surviving till her eighteenth birthday then she could get her a job and live a little better

They crossed over into Utah and Ben gave her a ring that wasn't real it looked as though it was and he told her that he had found it and if you wore it too long it would turn your finger green but here in utah there were mormons and particular in one spot and if he would tell them that she was his daughter he might be killed and she would be taken for one of their men's wife but if he pretend that he is also a mormon and that he had went and got him a young wife then they would leave them alone so she gladly put that ring on.

​ When they crossed into that area he had her to get up into the truck and yes the mormon's special police force did stop them and he pretended to be mormon and even had her an outfit and a bible and was sitting there They looked at her in her outfit and nodded their heads and let them through to go their merry way. She asked them if she had put on those clothes but stayed in the back what would have happened and he said that is where most of them have their daughters that they are going to give or sale as brides to these older men. you hardly ever see young men because they are chased away by a certain age. He had found three or four young teenage boys expelled from their community while helping his brother with his metal business. When Audrey asked him where they were now he told her in Nevada working on farms and going to school.. .
