Sandras heart was broken, she didn't want to hurt Dave but she also didn't want to put him into a position where he would get to far into the relationship that it would be harder to leave. She always breaks someones heart one way or another.
Swearing that the last time she did it that she would never do it again. Making this big change in her life was a part of her plan for the future. Every person she had become friends with or had relationships with she lost in one way or another through death or parting ways.
Deciding the best way to stop all this hurt was to move away from all her problems, not make any friends, work and then go home to relax. Meeting someone and falling for them wasn't part of her plan.
Thinking all this through, she hobbled to the bathroom, cleaned and retaped her wound which has stopped bleeding, took a pain pill and poured herself a nice hot bath. Settling in the bath with her leg over the side, she rested her head on the head rest closing her eyes and recapturing the day.
The music, singing, walk along the beach and from there it went down hill. From stepping on something sharp, the fear of him bringing her to his house not knowing what was in store and the hurt that she caused him. Tears rolled down her cheeks with a broken heart more for him than for her. She didn't want to feel anything for anyone, not even him but it was unavoidable. It still hurt.
