There were two truck loads of twelve to twenty .men mostly had rifles one or two had harpoon type weapons and a bunch of touches. They were met outside by old man Jamison They demanded the warewolf and old man Jamison didn't know what they were talking about. The town's men lite the touches and threw the touches into the house which most of it being wood inside burn fairly quickly leaving just the brick exterior but without the inside beams crumbled to the ground. One of the men that John couldn't tell because they wore masks shot and killed the old man.That still didn't stop the killings
The town's men folk had another meeting in the pub and discussed who the old man's friend was because nobody had seen him or her.One of them said John or Joan but then it was brought to their attention that the killings started way before they moved into town. John being a lawyer started asking himself questions then decided to start taking depositions of the citizens especially the men and just maybe .he could figure who it might be. One by one he ruled them out and then the women but nobody came off of being a suspect of any kind.either to be whatever or control of any pack of wolves that was doing the killings. He started watching the men even though he had ruled them out to see if they left their homes or the pub on the full moon the next month. and with it being around Halloween might heighten the wild creature either in the pack of wolves or whatever it is.
