THE WIZARD AND THE SYLPH

Chapter Fourteen

Rhia Sets Out For Hollind

Having arrived at Lund by crossing the Burning Lands and passing through the Valley of Baruk, Rhia was at first mystified as to how Baldric proposed to make the journey to Hollind, for that tiny elven country could only be reached by sea. She later learned that Baldric intended they take another route entirely: they would travel south from Lund until they passed beyond the southern border of the Kingdom of men called Brand. They would then find themselves in the north of the

dwarf kingdom of Darkhun, and would continue their journey south until they came at last to the sea. Rhia wasn't sure whether to be relieved or not that her steps weren't being retraced. At least she knew the dangers in getting to Lund from the other direction. Now, once more, the unknown loomed before her. But she consoled herself with the hope that her people's safety would be in better hands in the Four Kingdoms.

The company, when they got under way three days later, were five-hundred strong elves, dwarves, and men. They were led by an elf soldier named Nylandor who was familiar with the known history of the elves of Hollind, himself being of that line of elves from Angorain who were related to those of ancient Morag.
