I rushed to class trying to get there early. I looked at my phone, "shit, I have just five minutes left to the class. Thanks to Alex for cajoling me into watching a late night romance movie." I grumbled.
'Hey don't blame her, you enjoyed it too' my conscience scolded me. I picked up on my pace and started running. Bumping into people in the hallways and muttering 'sorry' and 'late for class' to them. By the time I got to the lecture hall, I was sweating slightly and panting really hard. I looked at my watch and saw that I was on time. I walked into the lecture hall and went to sit in the middle of the fourth row. Professor Stewart came in "good morning class, I hope you all have my assignment done. Submit them to the class rep after today's lesson. Bring out your copy of Pride and Prejudice, we will be working on it today."
I put my earphones and plugged it into my phone, playing 'Echo' by Jason Walker thereby blocking out whatever the lecturer was saying.
I major in Literature and I'm the second of the four best students in the whole department. I'm not one of those nerdy students who always have their nose stuck in books 24/7, I do have fun when I feel the need to. But I do take my studies serious because I want to prove to my parents that I can make it as a writer. Physically, I am not an orphan but technically, I am one since I live like one.
