Death In The Marshland - Page 18/21

The preacher did say they would give them a ride to the next big town where they could probably find some kind of transportation. They settled down and was relieved to have at least a ride for the next sixty miles or so. That gave them time to talk over their delima and maybe come up with a plan. As the bus was boarding to leave a big black car pulled up and a couple of men dressed in black suits One of themen walked around the bus. Crystal recongnized him as one of the Baton Rouge's mafia hinchmen and she tried to hid her head so he wouldn't see her and she tucked Donavan down on the floor. The bus door closed and the bus pulled off and just a couple minutes the big black car was seen by the driver and motioned for the preacher to come up to the front of the bus. There was a rest stop a few miles ahead and there was several tour buses and other vechiles. The bus pulled around them to where they could not be seen from the road and the preacher told Shelly that they could not let them stay on the bus that he had to think of his congregation. Shelly had seen three buses that belonged to a catholic church. One had nuns on the bus. The second bus was full of children and another one looked as though it was full of equipment plus extra habits. Shelly motioned for Crystal. They snuck onto the bus that had the equipment and clothing on board .Shelly quickly put a habit on and found a pair of nun's shoes on and took Donavan and put him on the children's bus and secured Donavan in a seat and put what looked like a helmet but is used to secure a disabled child that can not hold their head up and still to make him look like he was one of those children. She gave him his teddybear who plays a lullaby and told him to be very quiet. Crystal was suppose to changed into a habit and proper shoes also and join Shelly but decided not to. She stayed hiding on the equipement bus. She saw the children's bus pulled out and leave followed by the bus with the nuns on board. The black car had stopped the the other church bus and did not find Crystal on board and turned around and came back to the rest stop Crystal hid behind several speakers and suitcases. The men came on board and looked around and then left. A few minutes later the bus driver came out and got on board and the bus left. Crystal breathed a little better and hoped that one day she would be with Donavan again.
