Those 5 minutes - Page 102/135

'Dad i am in a relationship..' Zia said with lowered eyes. There was silence in the room for few seconds. And then there was a thud and blood on zia's forehead. Her mom ran at zia pressing her wound tightly between her palms. 'Stop you. Listen to what she had to say atleast.' The vase flung by her dad had hit directly at the side of her forehead causing a cut. 'Yes Heard heard. My daughter just said that she's in a fuc*** relationship.' Her dad was fuming with anger.

Zia's mom was quickly to realise that her husband can anytime thrash zia black and blue now. She too was upset on zia, but her motherly love had some soft corner towards her beloved daughter. She quickly esorted zia to the inside room and came back to her fuming husband.

He was walking in the living room at a fast pace with hands folded behind. Zia's mom was scared to face her husband. She was'nt new to his evil side, but today it was more of a deep wound of sadness and betrayal on his face than anger. She was new to 'this' side of her husband of 25 years.

'David..' she said standing near the couch. Zia's dad did not hear her as he was lost in his thoughts. 'David... ' she took a pause 'Pls relax.' She repeated again, this time in a firm tone. He stopped by her side and looked at her. He had wrinkles on his forehead. His eyes trying to speak something, some unsolvable question, probably asking his wife where did we go wrong? Zia's mom felt so shattered looking at her otherwise strong headed husband. Only she knew, he'd struggled for so many years, only to see his daughter happy & settled in her life, but today he was standing helpless and devasted. She hugged him close. The crack in their relationship was filling with tears rolling down their eyes. Suddenly they felt so useless, living their whole life for someone who dosnt even care for their feelings.
