A Simple Life of a Teenage Boy - Page 13/97

This week was totally boring because I had nothing to do. Yesterday, I went to Eric's place and we went to play basketball. It was real fun though I didn't even knew how to carry the ball properly. Sounds funny but I fell about 9 times on the ground trying to catch the ball which sadly I couldn't. Eric was also a beginner so he slipped a few times. Oh gosh! I needed to improve much on my physical and mental health. And yes, I've decided that I will try hard in sports and enter in some kind of competition at school.

Evening,

It's usual like the other nights. The moon's bright and the stars are glistening. I'm just doing the same thing everyday. I'm desperately waiting for something crazy to happen in this very simple life of mine. In the New Year, many of my friends and families gathered and we celebrated with much fun and happiness. In this year, I'm hoping for something new to happen.

As I look out of the window, I see the dark sky and get lost in my thoughts. I wonder how big this universe might be. Even I haven't visited all parts of United Kingdom and I'm thinking about travelling the whole world. I'm just a child though. My dream is to travel as much places as I can. There are numerous cities and crazy places out there in the mother Earth. It is worth to try to visit and learn about people, their traditions and how their life style works. Travelling was the another great idea which popped into my head at the beginning of this year. In my hometown, Aberdeen, I can see many foreigners who come to our houses and learn our cultures. Some days back, a tall white person of maybe 6.5 foot with a camera around his neck, wearing our traditional costume came into our house. She seemed very happy and told us about his adventure around the world. He said he was here for 2 weeks but he knew all the corners and places better than me. And I asked, "What is fun in travelling?"And the way he answered made me want to be a traveler in an instant. He said,"Travelling is a fun itself. There is not much answer to how I feel because when you are out there in a foreign land, with your bag packed and holding a camera, and as you see the places and things that you've never ever seen before, then you will realize that it was worthy that you went there." After I heard how excitedly he told about the places he visited and shared his photographs, I was totally inspired. Then I decided that life is not much fun when you just do your work, follow your daily schedule and repeat the same thing again and again. There are people, places and crazy stuffs out there which you have still yet to experience and see. So, rather than saying, Earth is small compared to the whole universe and though it might be a small dot in this vast universe, there are things and places that the whole universe may not have. So, my New Year's resolution is not just study, but if I get chance to go somewhere, I will definitely go without any second thoughts.
