A Simple Life of a Teenage Boy - Page 68/97

We met on the college ground during our break time. Our conversation nearly lasted for an hour. She told me everything. Every words were shocking and left my jaw open. We had decided to go to a separate place where our friends would not see us and the best suited place was the roof of the building. We went to the top floor of our college where just a few couples would gather. Then after we sat there, Jennifer began to talk without delay. In our whole conversation, I didn't ask or speak anything.

"Listen close to everything I say. First, I want you to know that I'm here because of my sister. She requested me to search you and tell you that she was sorry for leaving you so suddenly. But after looking at you, I couldn't just tell you sorry and walk away. You were in so desperate search of her and so I wanted to tell you everything. Jenny had told me not to speak anything about her whereabouts and conditions. But I couldn't do that after looking at your face when you described about her. And you may think how I knew that you were in this college. Actually, James had told me about you. He told me that you were studying here and so I rushed here as fast as I can. Jenny mentions about you a lot. And she wasn't mistake about you. You were just the same as Jenny had explained. You are a kind hearted person. I think nobody would wait so long for a girl who vanished so suddenly. Now, the reason of her disappearance was not because she went with James. Jenny had rejected the invitation of James to go with him. Maybe Jenny didn't tell you anything about her sickness. Jenny was extremely weak due to some sort of rare disease. Since her childhood, we had to take her to the hospital in a frequent basis. The doctor mentioned that it was a rare type of disease and cannot be treated there. It would also take a lot of money. So, Jenny didn't want the treatment and would always tell that she is fine. But on one particular day, she fell extremely sick. And it was the day when James had told her to go with him. After she denied James, she fell sick suddenly. We took her to the hospital and the doctor suggested us to take her abroad. So now she is admitted at the South Seattle Hospital. She has a major operation after 4 weeks. The doctor has told us that there is 50% chance of living. She is struggling with some unknown disease but still she requested me to visit you. So now here I'm talking in front of you explaining about my sick sister who is fighting against death."
