“I’ll need to unpack and take a shower before I scrub up,” said Catherine, unfolding her long legs from the front seat of the cart. She slung her bag over her shoulder, turned to Erik and put her hands behind her back. “Mr. Sokoloff, I will see you at four,” she added as she gave a sharp nod and a quick bow.

As she turned to pull her carryon from the back compartment of the cart Erik suppressed the urge to take the suitcase from her hand and carry it up the wide steps for her. No, he told himself. I’m here for treatment. I have to stay focused on that.

Still, as he turned his attention to the frail little man named Boris he could not help but smile as he remembered how Catherine’s heart had jumped when she looked at him in the restaurant.
