She was four years older than Aliziana and often the more impatient sister but that day, like so many other days when Aliziana had cancelled, Romina prepared herself for another let-down.

“Actually, tonight is perfect ,” Aliziana beamed with excitement, “Thomas is leaving later and I am off!” Aliziana smiled to herself - she was actually free that night.

“Oh my god - now that’s a first! You mean he’s going to let you off the leash?” Romina laughed her usual deep robust laugh and then told her sister that she was only teasing.

“Romi, I know you’ve never liked him and yes, he’s been too much lately but you know what - damn, I have another call so I will tell you more tonight - text me later.”

Aliziana quickly said her goodbye and then she was informed by Kayley that security was waiting for her. She rushed to gather her jacket and purse and went to meet Rafael in the studio. Just in time, she thought, as Rafael was about to close the cherry wood gift case. She inspected the lustrous finish and it was flawless, the shiny intricate brass lock was new vintage and the matching engraved plaque was in Old English as Frances had insisted. He held it delicately, then opened it slowly and she smiled approvingly.
