A Love To Remember (Her Memory) - Page 2/20

Rachel and I are packing things as we are moving to a new place. Rachel is my wife and we have a six year old daughter named Maya. Maya is a sweet girl and dad would say that she resembles my mom. Maya is a sharp and bold girl of her age. So, he would always say that she is the same as her grandmother when she was of her age. And as I was managing dad's stuffs; I found an old book placed in the bottom of his closet. It was an old journal that was covered with dusts. The pages were old and some were torn out as well. It was titled as, 'Her memory'. Inside it, I found an old photograph of a woman. The photograph somehow resembled the face of mother. There, a beautiful woman most probably mother, was smiling. Her smile was so clear even though the picture was so old. She wore black dress and was smiling so intensely with her right arm facing in front. There I saw something written at the back of her photo. It was dad's handwriting. 'Keep on smiling. Forever and always yours. With love, Peter Brook' was what it said. Then I knew that it was for mom.

I took the journal and showed it to mom. Even she didn't know that dad had written so much about her. She requested me to read each and every page. And I didn't hesitate because I wanted to see mother smile. After the loss of dad, she hasn't talk much and her face seems dark. So, this journal would bring smile in her sad face. Dad's last word was to take care of mom so I can't let her be like this. Though, dad is not here, his memory will always be with us. And that is the last thing that father has left us with.
