A beautiful smile lights up her face and I can’t help but smile as well.
Thank goodness I went for demonstration because I managed to explain more with my actions than all the words I would have used.
“Why are you crying I ask?”
She looks at me and there is such a sad smile on her face. She looks at the floor which I’m suspecting is a force of habit.
“Because for so long I thought I was a freak I can do things that I know that no one else can. I was so afraid I was a monster. I don’t know what I am. I stay away from everyone. Now you say I’m like you, I’m not alone. Maybe there’s nothing wrong with me after all. Except I don’t understand two things..”
She looks at me waiting for a response or permission to continue
“Ask me anything”, I say while holding her gaze steadily
“What did you mean when you said I don’t look like any of your… I mean our kind?”
“It means I would have recognized you instantly normally. We are pale, very pale, as you can see” and I wave my hands over my self to further prove my point and our females are usually thin.” She looks at me shocked. Oh shit I just insulted her.
