“I’m not sharing any money with you. I will pay what I owe you and that’s it.”

“Well….” She shut him out before he could finish talking. He was wrong. She wasn’t going to share her money or her boyfriend with anyone. Because she had a plan. She wouldn’t make a fool of herself if she stuck to the plan. It was foolproof. She hoped. She had already successfully carried out the first part of it. At least that’s what she thought. There was no need to doubt herself or Ricky about the rest. Besides, it was too late to back out now. She thought.

“I will keep you posted.”

“You are in no position to make demands. You two work for me, don’t forget you owe me.”

The words from her mother rang her mind. It was one of the many clichés she liked using on a daily basis. But in her case, they were true. It wasn’t too late for her to take everything away from her cousin. She could still walk away with everything without causing any damage. Whatever problems that arose from her action could be fixed. She could always find a way to explain them.
