Until Sunrise - Page 50/75

At eleven that morning Ricky had gone to T bone’s warehouse to ask him about the letter. His buddy had been on the phone, he’d waved Ricky in and given him one of those boyish grin. He could still picture the look on T bone’s face when he’d hung up the phone and met his face.

“You weren’t supposed to see that order.” T bone admitted, reaching across the desk for the letter. Ricky snatched it up.

“What order?” Ricky asked surprised.

“The one you’re holding.”

“How dare you hit on my girlfriend?” The thin letter had crumpled in the fierceness of Ricky’s grip. “Can’t believe you have the guts to write her a letter.”

“What are you talking about, Ricky?”

“Dammit man, I would never do that to you.” T bone’s face sagged with exhaustion, stood up and began to pace up and down. He looked like a caged animal. Ricky used every ounce of restraint he had to bite down the anger and resentment he felt towards T bone. Ricky wouldn’t let him take away Angie.

Along the corridors, Ricky could feel T bone’s lies beckoning him. When he stepped next to the door, he saw light from the room. With a low curse, he tucked the letter back in his pocket.
