They were startled when a woman parted the curtain and approached them. They both smiled at Miranda. She had silky ebony hair that was covered in beads. Her face had an angelic glow because of her rich complexion.

A gentle smile appeared on her face and her green light eyes brightened as soon as she saw them. Her ears were pierced and filled with stone earrings.

“Hi Flora,” Miranda said with a smile, his eyes fixed on Flora.

“Hi, we…” she stammered trying to think of something to say.

“How may I help you?” Miranda asked while still concentrating on her.

“This is Jules.” Flora said.

“I know who she is, she grew up here too.” Miranda said extending her hand. She had long soft fingers and a palm that was warm. There seemed to be such peacefulness in her face, a calmness that made them feel safer inside the shop than outside.

“Are you prepared for what’s coming?” he said sitting back.

“What do you mean?” Flora knew he was referring to the will but she wasn’t sure why she had to prepare.

“The journey of a thousand miles begin with a single step, yours has just begun.” He added. “Only love shall conquer it all.

“Okay.” Flora answered unable to hide her nervousness.
