By evening she saw her phone which displayed 25 missed calls from Arya. She placed it back in her bag and left home. Lakshmi was aware of Adhira’s food choice so she had prepared food according to her preference. She asked Adhira to refresh and eat.
Adhira refreshed herself, enjoyed the food and they all started to prepare dinner together.
Ram came inside and saw all of them together. He saw Adhira and asked,” Ma, isn’t your checkup due tomorrow?”
Adhira replied back,” Yes.”
“How are you going?”
“I am not sure.”
“Okay. Lakshmi and I will accompany you tomorrow. Is that okay?”
Adhira nodded her head and agreed. They all enjoyed some quality time and Lakshmi went to prepare for tomorrow early morning travel. She informed Gayathri to take care of home and they all went to bed.
Adhira came to her room and saw her mobile which now had displayed 50 missed calls. She called him back now and was able to hear a sleepy tone saying, “Hello.”
Adhira disconnected again being frustrated. She placed her hand on her stomach and spoke to the child,” See your dad. We both are angry here and without making any effort to convince us, he is happily sleeping over there. He has forgot us dear.”
The cellphone rang again and it was him. She took the phone and remained silent. He spoke up,” Adhira. I am sorry.”
