After Baskar left the room, Shyamala began to ponder over the matter. She recalled in her mind the events that had occurred recently. She had already known that Lakshmi detested her for no reason and all of a sudden she turned into bathetic towards her as she credulously believed the fabricated lie, lied by our Astrologer in view of connubiality to his son, Baskar.
“I’ve so far never seen him angry with me. How many times I baited him for trivial reasons? Why should I be irritated when he associated with his father for telling the credulous lies? Dad is ready to forsake him if I disown to marry Baskar. How much love and affection my dad has upon me as he is ready to reject Baskar whom he considered as a pupil of his eye. ! Like William Shakespeare said, ‘All is well that ends well. My next work is to convince him.”
Shyamala realized her blunder and was ready even to apologize to Baskar. She came out and looked for Baskar. She found him sitting calmly with his mother and sister in a separate room. Meenah and her mother were talking something in which Baskar didn’t participate.
She stood at the doorsill of the room and asked for permission: “Excuse me, may I speak to Baskar privately?
