He turned to face her, and wrapped his arms around her back, pulling her close. The feel of her body, soft, slippery, and warm with the combined heat of the water and her skin's flush was exciting.

In her ear, Aldrec recited a poem.

"Khersh tulyr sana

Hagiin tulyr mesna

Wahas tulyr irsi

El kour biris ri sorik

Reiis verki

Morr el irsi al lil

Volii Marsk

Su ki ber hal nir."

"I can understand you!" Mericlou breathed, her amber eyes wide as flames in a hearth.

"I was hoping you could," Aldrec said. The language program I put in the sequencer was kind of temperamental."

"That was High elfish, right?"

Aldrec nodded.

"I can't tell you how curious I was to learn the language," Mericlou said.

"What did I say?" Aldrec asked, smiling his usual gentle smile.

"Lovely flower of dawn

Sweet flower of night

Constant flower of day

Bring my soul to flight

Pure and simple

Bright as day to me

Love eternal

Have your way with me."

"That was one of the first love poems ever written by my people," Aldrec said. "It's something I wanted to share with you, after what we shared."

Mericlou gently pressed him back to the edge of the pool. A heretofore unseen hungry look was now present in her amber eyes.

"I … gather you like it then?" Aldrec said on the edge of laughter, caught flat-footed by her sudden initiative.

"Shh …" Mericlou whispered, pinning him to the corner seductively. "I want to see if I can make that poem come to life." She proceeded to cover his lips and neck with gentle kisses. Aldrec, the recipient of her sudden, but quite welcome affections, enjoyed the feel of her lips, and the subsequent feel of her breasts sliding against his stomach as she traced a crooked path downwards. It was like tiny drops of warm honey.

His last coherent thoughts before giving into her tender assault was that the things they needed to do could wait until later … perhaps even tomorrow.

The day was still young, and he, with his beautiful wife, throughout that entire day, felt equally as young.

Mericlou stirred, but only slightly, as Aldrec gently shook her.

"Tulyr …"

"Mmm …?"

"It's time, love. We need to get up now."

" … Mattress is too comfortable," Mericlou mumbled, " … don't want to get up."

"This is the time we agreed upon," Aldrec said, still insistently stirring her to the waking world. "Please, it's important that we get up now."
