Mason must have been worrying because he came banging on the door, making us both jump. "Kenzie, Hailey you guys ok? You've been in there forever."
Startled and worried he would pick the lock, I picked up the test, threw it back in the bag and shoved it under my shirt. I looked over at Hailey, "Don't say a word to anyone Hails."
I opened the door and walked straight into my room; I took the test out from under my shirt and shoved it in the back of my underwear drawer. I paced the floor for the rest of the night. The test had to be wrong. I always took my pill at the same time every day, and I never missed. There had to be a mistake.
Around eight the next morning, I still could not even think about going to sleep. I need to talk to someone. I couldn't talk to my mom; Hailey had no idea about being pregnant. Chloe! I went over to my purse, grabbed my cell and dialed Chloe.
"Kenzie, what in the hell are you doing up so early?" She yawned and I heard Alex crying in the background.
"Um, can I come over? I need to talk to you." I was already walking downstairs to grab my keys.
"Yeah sure but stop and grab us coffee first. Alex has been up most of the night and it was my turn to stay up with him."
"Yeah sure, I'll grab you a coffee. Should I get one for Jackson?" I started the car.
"Better pick him up one so when he gets up, he doesn't bitch about it."
"Ok see you in a few."
Fifteen minutes later, I pulled up to Jackson and Chloe's little house that they just recently bought. I grabbed the coffee and made my way inside, Alex was lying on his back on his little play mat and Chloe, who looked like she hasn't slept in hours, was in the kitchen making bacon. As soon as I smelled it, I ran into the kitchen, dropped the coffee down on the table, spilling some in the process and darted to the bathroom to throw up.
I heard mumbling outside of the bathroom door and then someone knocked.
"Kenz let me in." Chloe said.
"Hold on a second." I quickly got up and rinsed my mouth out before I opened the door. "Sorry, I just had to pee."
Shaking her head at me, Chloe said, "Not buying it. You're pregnant aren't you?"
"Shh, I don't know. That's why I'm here." I grabbed her hand, pulled her into the bathroom, turned the water back on and said, "I took a test, but it can't be right Chloe. I take my pills every day. What the hell am I going to do? I need you to fix this."
She raised her eyebrows at me. "You didn't use protection?" I shook my head. It was a huge mistake on my part for telling Hunter it was ok. "You're smarter than that Kenz. I'm not going to lecture you though. Have you taken another test since last night?"
"No, that was the only one. I didn't even think about any of this shit until Dominic mentioned it to me. He gave me the test to take."
"He what? How did he know?" She asked confused.
"I don't really know, I never asked." I sat down on the edge of the tub. "What do I do? I'm freaking out."
"Freaking out isn't going to help you at all. Let me go throw on a pair of shoes and I'll tell Jackson I forgot to grab eggs. We will run to the store and grab another test. Although I'm pretty sure that one is right. I took twenty tests in three days because I refused to believe I was pregnant."
"Alright, let's go."
We walked out of the bathroom. Chloe went into the living room to grab Alex and take him to Jackson who was still in bed. I covered my nose with my shirt to keep from smelling the bacon that she was still cooking.
"You're pregnant." She said when she saw me holding my nose. "I was the same way; everything smells nasty and turns your stomach."
"Alright Dr. Oz, can we go please?" She laughed at me, clearly amused by my panic.
We ran into town to the nearest drug store, picked up a test and made it back to the house within fifteen minutes.
"Go take the test, and I'll go distract Jackson." Chloe said when we pulled into the driveway.
I walked in and went right in to the bathroom to take the test. Five minutes later, I still had the same damn results.
PREGNANT.

What was I going to do? Neither one of us was ready to have a baby, neither one could afford to provide for a baby. Hunter was graduating this year and then would be enrolling into a police academy; I wasn't even sure where he was planning on living. I still had 3 years to finish so that I could become a teacher, something I have always wanted to do since I was little. Yes, Hunter and I both had jobs to help pay for things we needed but not enough to take care of a baby. Would he even want our baby? Would I be a single mom? There was no way I was aborting my baby or giving him or her up for adoption. I could not even think about it. It just wasn't an option for me.
Mom and dad are going to be so disappointed in me, Hunter's mom too. All they want is to see us graduate and make something of ourselves, and I messed it all up. I dread telling them that I made a mistake, but I would live up to it. It was my fault that I got Hunter and me into this mess.
My brothers are going to kill Hunter. Yes, Cooper and Jackson were ok with us dating, but now to have to tell them about this? Oh God. Mason really was going to murder Hunter. There is no way I can let them find out.
I needed to get out of here; I needed to figure out what I was going to do. I put the test back in the box and shoved it in my purse. I opened the door and the smell of bacon and eggs immediately hit me again. I quickly shut the door and took a couple of deep breaths, trying to think of anything but getting sick.
My stomach settled. I took a few more deep breaths in and out of my mouth. I could do this. I would walk out there and say I have to go do something with mom and pray I don't get sick.
I opened the door and took a few more breaths. I can do this. I walked into the living room and lay down next to Alex on the floor. "Hey baby, Aunt Kenzie has to go. Grandma needs me to go with her to the store. I'll see you later, ok." I kissed the little peach fuzz on his head.
I went over to Jackson, reached up, placed a kiss on his cheek and told him, "I'll talk to you later. Mom wants me to run some errands with her."
"You're not going to stay for breakfast?" The second he even mentioned it, my stomach clenched.
"No, I'm not really hungry anyway."
I went over to Chloe and kissed her cheek. She whispered in my ear, "Call me later."
"I'll talk to you guys later. Chloe, maybe we could grab lunch or dinner this week since I'm home on break."
"Yeah sure sounds good, we have to talk about the wedding anyway, get some ideas for bridesmaids dresses." Chloe said as she walked and put her arms around Jackson.
