And You Will Find Love - Page 20/287

After the movie, while driving her home, Charlie turned the truck into the park near where she lived. It was past ten o'clock and the park was dark and empty.

For the first time, Barbara became suspicious about her date. "What are you driving in here for?"

Charlie didn't answer, just drove to a far end of the parking lot, then stopped the truck and turned off the ignition.

"How about we neck a little?" he asked.

He put an exploring hand a little above her left knee.

She pushed his hand off of her and he quickly put an arm around her. When he tried to kiss her, she turned her head away.

"Hey, what gives?" Charlie asked.

"I thought we were just going to go to the movies."

"Sure, but what the hell, how about a little kiss for taking you, and all?"

"A little kiss okay," she relented. "But nothing more."

He kissed her on the lips, and she liked it. He wasn't rough, he was gentle. She did like him. He was so good-looking with his dark curly hair, and he dressed so nice. She let him kiss her several times, and even liked being held in his arms.

Then the boy she hoped would be different thrust one of his hands up her skirt, and she screamed.

"What the hell you screaming about?" Charlie groped between her legs. "You know what guys and girls do in a car after a movie."

She pushed his hand off of her again, then felt both his hands pressing against the front of her blouse.

"Stop it, Charlie! I don't want you to hurt me!"

She wanted to be kissed. She wanted him to hold her in his arms. She wanted to be loved. She just didn't want him to take her like an animal.

He laughed. "I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just trying to love you, that's all. You're built great, you know? Your breasts are like a woman's."

"How the hell would you know?" she asked.

Moving fast and anxiously, Charlie tore her blouse open. Then in a whirlwind, he hurriedly unzipped his pants, lowered them, and was lying on top of her, pushing her legs apart. As he tried thrusting himself into her, she cried out again.

A bright light flashed into the dark cab of the pick-up truck, blinding them both.

A man's angry voice called out, "Leave her alone, you little bastard!" But neither Barbara nor her young lover could see who held the flashlight that was trained on them.
