Penelope started to follow him, but there was no one there. Then she woke up. She wondered why the young man would quote from the Bible. She tried to analyze the whole experience but could not. Still, the dream would not leave her thoughts.
Eleni came early Tuesday morning and signed the necessary release papers. As they slowly walked down the white marble stairs, neither Penelope nor Eleni turned to look back. Happily, they got into the waiting taxi that took them to Eleni's house in Piraeus. When they arrived home, Penelope kissed the pictures of her departed loved ones and fell on the couch, pleased to be home.
"Anna?" she suddenly asked, raising her head to look at her daughter. "How is Anna? Have you heard from her?"
"Yes, Mother, she writes to me."
"Is she all right? Where is she?"
"I don't know exactly, at a monastery I think, but she is not allowed contact with the outside world."
"Oh? I understand. She is in seclusion." Penelope put her head down. "If you can contact her, tell her I love her and hope to see her soon."
"I will, Mother. Now rest a little and then I'll make you a cup of tea."
