His head lowered, Nikolas prayed silently. As he prayed, a woman dressed in village clothing, with her head covered, entered the church and quietly knelt down next to Nikolas and prayed. When Yanni and Adoni asked him who she was later, Nikolas replied that he had never even noticed her.
Seeing that their captain was distraught, Yanni and Adoni had followed from a respectful distance and watched as he entered the church. After awhile, they decided to join him inside. Tiptoeing, they each lit a candle, before standing in a corner of the church and praying. Nikolas was glad when he noticed that they were there with him. After a while, he got up slowly, feeling hopeful. Without a word, Yanni and Adoni followed him out of the chapel.
