George D. Demakas was born in a small town near Delphi, Greece. He survived the horrors of WWII, and the civil war that followed it. As a child his passion was writing and fashion. He left his village to study in the big city, and he eventually immigrated to the United States and continued his studies and work. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe and participated in many theatrical productions that won numerous awards. All of his life he wanted to write a novel. He worked hard to support his family, and very little time was left for his writing. All the writing he wanted to do remained in his head.
He has written five theatrical plays, three of which have been produced successfully on stage.
He lives in Berkeley, California; and Athens, Greece. George has four grandchildren.
This is his first novel and he is working on two more.
