The steward took Stavros' hand and helped him up, then led him away from the graves. He took a canteen out of his pocket and handed it to him. They sat on a rock while Stavros stared blankly toward the gentle shoreline.
"Sir, if these graves are those of Anna and Nikolas, then who buried them?" Kostas asked, trying to give solace to his employer. With his mouth partly open, Stavros fixed his gaze into Kostas' eyes with a ray of hope.
